John
and Petra, Fairbanks, Alaska
John and Petra are both physicists, who have recently moved from Tasmania,
Australia, to Fairbanks, Alaska. Petra is working at the International
Arctic Research Center, and John is working at the Geophysical
Institute, both part of the University of Fairbanks, Alaska. They spent
1999 at Davis station, Antarctica, working for the Australian Antarctic
Division.
Peter
Kinsella, Voyage from New Zealand to Antarctic Coast
Peter went on a commercial expedition on the Russian ice breaker Kapitan
Khlebnikov which sailed from New Zealand to Hobart. The expedition went
to the Antarctic coast from Cape Adare to the South Magnetic Pole, visiting
5 huts used by the great Antarctic explorers Scott, Shackleton, Mawson,
various islands and US, New Zealand, Italian, French and Australian
Antarctic research stations.
David Harrowfield, Law Base, Antarctica
A self employed Antarctic researcher, author and publisher from New
Zealand. David worked as a field assistant in the Australian Antarctic
Division's geosciences programme at Law Base in the Larsemann Hills
near Davis station.
