20/12/00 - Bechervaise Island

Still on Bechervaise, and the wind hasn't let up one little bit. I've been getting lots of inside jobs done. We were planning to go into station today, but the wind is too strong. It should start easing up on the weekend, and be fine for Monday (Christmas). If there is any decent ice left, we will walk into station for Christmas dinner.

We walked to the top of the Island tonight after dinner. Nearly got blown off it too! I'm glad we didn't decide to bivy out on Welsh. We may still have been there, without water and food!
