29/12/00 - Bechervaise

Another day in Antarctica.

I rang home this morning to see how everyone was. Today, as you may remember, was D day for the baby. Ruth was fine. No signs of movement. All A OK. About 2 1/2 hours later I got a phone call from Ruth saying she is fine, the baby is fine, and the birth went well! They did make it to the hospital. Just!

For those interested in statistics: Boy, 3.45kg, 50.5cm head to toe, 31cm head circumferance, no name (any suggestions?). I hope I got all that right.

To say that I am pleased is somewhat of an understatement, although it is disappointing not to be there to be part of it all.

What else can I say?
