The side of this glacier has been weathered by the wind into a wave shape. Formations like this are known as "wind scours". The dark bands are compressed rock and dust embedded in the ice. Nick has visited this wind scour at Fearn Hill using a 4 wheel drive motor bike, known as a "quad". Fearn Hill, Northern Massen Range about 20 km south of Mawson station, Antarctica, 1999.
