Alaska

Cathy's Alaskan Log Cabin SUMMER Cathy's Alaskan Log Cabin WINTER
Cathy's cottage; cosy both summer and winter.

Alaska and Antarctica have many similarities; white frozen landscapes, long dark winter nights punctuated by invigorating auroral displays, a sense of community and survival, and a wilderness that can be explored by dog sled.

There are also some important differences; Alaska is vegetated, accessible, has a real summer, a permanent human presence and an indigenous population. Together, these things give it a more tangible soul.

In addition Alaska abounds with adventurous and creative individuals and, noticeably, women. In FrostBytes, Gina revels in this supportive community.
